Elizabeth's Cure for Asthma

My daughter Elizabeth is really poorly with a cold. She's been ill pretty much full-on since september. The doctor cant do anything as Elizabeth flatly refuses to take medicine, and she knows when her drinks are spiked.

She's okay in the daytime. Yesterday we went to the 'Woolworths' sale. Elizabeth found a 'fifi and the flower tots' metal bin which she loved. It was heavily reduced. We bought it.

That evening Lisa and I spent most of the night awake looking after Elizabeth who was throwing up everywhere, coughing, choking spluttering.

Today, fine all day. Night time arrives, Lisa puts Elizabeth to bed. Cough splutter choke. We get her down, calm her down and eventually take her up to bed. Again.

The baby monitor crackles to life with the sound of a cough, but no ordinary cough, a cough in an echo chamber. I make my way upstairs to find Elizabeth fast asleep. She's found a cure for her cough.

Ladies and Gentlemen, parents of children with asthma or heavy colds: I give you Elizabeth's sure-fire cure for the cough:
Sleep with your head in a metal fifi and the flowertots bin.
